L.I:
To describe a place you connect with using verbs and adjectives so the reader can imagine it.
Where do I come from?:
where I come from you can feel the sand beneath your feet
where I come from you can hear the waves crash as they hit the surface,
where I come from you can hear the segulls call when it gets hot,
where come from you can feel the sun on your skin,
where I come from the weather can suddenly change
where I come from the locals are smiley, happy and kind.
the place I come from is cable bay
Tech is when the year 7’s and 8’s get to go and learn things such a as sewing food tech and hard materials in the first term I was in hard materials and my teacher’sname was Rob we built a sunscreen holder to take on field trips or camp. For the second term I was in sewing,we call her Whea Jorja I hand stitched a kiwi fruit and a strawberry I also made a bag it was made from Levi jeans I also learnt how to use a sewing machine (and not poke my fingers with needles) and I also learnt how to hand stitch. In term 3 I was in food tech with Whea Cindy (AKA my mum) we learn how to mix and cook for example sofar we’ve made cinnamon rolls (skills: making dough from scratch measurements and baking in a oven) savoury rolls and fried rice (skills:frying in a pan cutting bacon and making egg).
My art my first art peice with my new teacher Whea Cynthia was duck art inspired by Kerri blades who lives in western Austalia and my second peice of art were these flower designes inspired by Ana teofilo-tapa who is Samoan and my last peice of art were these cool snails inspired by Aiste G who is actually Russian. With the duck art we first sketched out a duck then we cut fabric and made clothes, for the flower designes our teacher brought in some flowers made out of wood we got to decorate them with paint pens then we put them up to be judged for pet day, with the snail art we drew a snail and we changed the shell out for things such as pizza or a cinnamon roll.
A couple weeks ago I had to do speeches Infront of my class I was really nervous I even practiced at lunch Infront of my friends ,like I said nervous like I could litteraly hear my heartbeat and I felt hot and uncomfortable the bell rang and I felt even worse name by name by name got called out then I heard another name but it was my name my heart dropped I got up out of my seat and started talking I didn’t feel quiet as bad as I did but I didn’t want to make it through suddenly I could see the last words on my cards I was finished finally it felt like 10 hours then the bell rang for the end of the day yes I made it through another day I get in the car and mum say she had good news good news? yes finally something good “you made it through!” “what? no why.”
I walked into class and heard the teacher saying “do you have a change of clothes?” to somebody but I didn’t know what for had I forgotten about something? “hey do you know what there doing today?” I asked one of my friends “yeah there going planting today” “phew” I said to myself a weight lifted off my shoulders “I thought we had something on….wait then who’s our teacher?” “Rob” said someone obviously eavse dropping on our conversation “ok then”.”So Rob what are we doing today?” “maths, writing, reading the usual” “dammit”.
When I first got to school I saw people unloading there animals into the hall, my face lit up it’s pet day I thought to myself I put my bag on a hook and went to look in my classroom oh yeah…. the blinds are down because she doesn’t want us to see the certificates.I run to the other class and find my friends .Ring we hear the bell go “bye” I wave to my friends and line up outside of my class, the teacher comes and lets us in oh wow Brielle you got a certificate ,yay .”It’s 9 let’s look around the classes and see there artwork”. “woah that’s cool” .”Ok time to see the animals in the hall” chicks, chickens, “aww cat’s” bunny’s and Ginny pigs we also had 5 dogs (the least we’ve had) 1 cow and some goats and sheep.
